As we disembarked from our wonderful quarters on the boat, our land adventures began.
We were all very eager to ‘walk the walls’ in Dubrovnik. The views were amazing…the sea, the historic architecture, red tile roofs, sculptures, etc were so beautiful! I can certainly see how one would feel quite secure living within the walls!
To close our evening, we enjoyed a wonderful dining experience at Restaurant 360 a Michelin Star Restaurant. In order to make the most of our day exploring, we had dressier dinner clothes to change into in our backpacks. The fun part was trying to find a place to change clothes. We ended up having to pay to use a less than desirable restroom. I’ve include a pic of the payment system. It said it took credit card but it wasn’t working so they we had to come up with exact change which was a challenge..and somewhat of a hoot with us all scrounging around for a couple coins. Note: the guys put their dress pants on over their shirts to avoid the ‘pay to go’ restroom experience!
Back to our restaurant story. This was my first such experience with such a rated restaurant. It was AMAZING! We had several courses, all of which were explained in detail by our server. This was quite helpful as some of the food/presentation was quite different. It seemed like edible art and was fabulous. Some of the dishes the group enjoyed included:Scallops tartar, risotto, octopus, sea bass, lamb and pigeon! Yes, pigeon. James was the brave soul who ordered that. David ate lamb, again…much to my chagrin!
