Day 17–Dubrovnik & Lokrum

Today our exploration continued. There is so muchf history and beauty here.

This area is also known for several filming locations from the series The Game of Thrones. The pics include site locations including the shaming stairs, Blackwater Bay, The Red Keep, Kings Landing Harbor and a couple others.

One of my favorite GOT locations was Lokrum Island where the Iron Throne is located. We had fun taking pics and ended up with a group gem!

We also took a sky tram ride up 778 meters to enjoy views from above..including the walls, City and Lokrum. Mother Nature gave us a surprise rain storm which foiled our outdoor dining plans. As a result, there are only a few pictures.

I’m also closing this diary entry with a note about our departure. We woke EARLY, early (2:46 am ish) on Sunday, Oct 2 to begin our journey home via Frankfurt, Germany; Washington, DC; to KC. During our layover in Frankfurt, we grabbed a bite to eat at an airport restaurant. You can imagine our surprise when a cute little robot cart rolled by to deliver food to some patrons and said, “hi, I’m here” when stopping at the appropriate table. Unfortunately, our food was delivered by a human and not the cute robot. I’ll keep dreaming of robot food delivery in the future.

To close, I am so very grateful to have experienced this amazing trip, the beauty of nature, laughter that made my sides hurt and adventures with my awesome friends and fabulous husband. I’m a lucky girl! :)
