Day 14–Ston

Today the threat of rain detoured us to the island of Ston. Ston is a very small island that has been a ‘summer home’ for Croatians and others in the region for years.

The blue sky, hills and view of the bay were like a postcard. Enjoy!

We also took a smaller boat to an oyster farm. We learned how oysters are made and that it takes 3-5 years for them to grow. We also enjoyed some delicious samples of oysters and muscles. Yum!

Back at the ship, we had the Captain’s dinner that was delicious! The night also included much conversation with other travelers and dancing. A LOT of dancing! David and I even had an opportunity to bust out our salsa moves! His moves were definitely smoother than mine!

As the night and drinks wore on, some of our fellow cruisers decided to take an impromptu dip in the sea, sans swim attire. This was not an authorized swim stop and poor Dianna jokingly said she was going to go to her cabin. Fortunately the 5 or so swimmers made it safely back on board. I have to admit, a late night swim would have been nice!

Quote/song of the night = “Oops Upside Your Head”
