Day 12–Vis

This morning the ship sailed to the island of Vis. We had a swim stop in a little cove. Once again the water was refreshing but all of 6 of us got in and frolicked for a bit. The water was very clear and we saw many sea urchins. Rob may have made contact with an urchin but seems to be no worse for the wear.

After lunch on the boat we took a leisurely walk along the coast. A gelato break make the walk extra pleasant. In the evening many boats docked most likely to enjoy the many beautiful restaurants.

We dined at Kantun, a quaint little restaurant with stone interior and a wood fired grill inside where they prepared food. The owner (I assume that’s who’s it was) brought us a plate of the daily catch from which to select our meal. After he lifted a giant orange fish by the eye sockets, we selected that for our entree. We enjoyed appetizers of octopus gulash and cuttlefish risotto. Following this we each had a plentiful amount of fish steak with sides of vegetables and potatoes and a very dense and tasty chocolate cake (all items suggested…er strongly encouraged, by the owner).

We closed the evening by sitting atop the ships highest deck and enjoying the atmosphere, disco music and a dance performance by Lisa.
