David's Graduation

It’s official…David is a professional Dive Master! He completed his training and now has the coveted black ecard from PADI!

This past Friday, the staff at Dive Friends had David and fellow DM grad Sven, complete their final step…the snorkel test. I’m not sure how much of this is secret society material so I’ll only share a little bit. Some of it involved wearing goggles covered in tape and then assembling a dive kit. There was another challenge where errors resulted in the newly certified having to take a drink of an alcoholic beverage each time an error was made…and errors were quite inevitable. David had a ‘stand in’ drinker who drank when he made an error as he matched them with Coke Cola.

In conclusion, beverages were poured into the snorkels. David’s beverage: A mix of Coke & Fanta! Quite a jolt of sugar from that concoction!

Overall, there was much celebration and camaraderie with the awesome Dive Friends team. Massive kudos to both David and Sven. They worked hard for this amazing achievement. Also, huge thanks David’s mentor, Austin, for coaching him along the way. And here’s to an absolutely amazing first year of retirement!
