Today most of us slept in a bit…vacation fun is tiring. :) The divers went out for 2 dives and Michelle, Kevin and I spent some time in the ocean. It was lovely. Around 1:00 pm ish we decided to go have the much raved about lionfish burger. We found them at a road side food truck called Cactus Blue. The proprietor explained that the lionfish burgers are special and not the easiest to come by and are a bit expensive at $21 a burger. The surface dwellers in our group had some lionfish burgers, beef burgers and a veggie wrap. It was all wonderful and I’m so glad we shared in a unique culinary experience.
About the time we were finishing up our lunch, the divers came in. We made them some lunch and then got the whole family in the ocean, even grandma Kitty though her time in the water was brief. This was Emma’s first time in the ocean and she did great. Side note: several in our group jumped into the ocean from our rock ledge….I was one of those people. :)
The divers went out for a late afternoon dive off the house. Chris was the ‘dive master’ on this dive and brought the group up right at our ladder at the end of the dive. That is great navigating and an awesome way to lead the group…way to go, Chris!
We then watched another beautiful Bonarian sunset. After the sunset, we had a great dinner of pork chops, vegetables and rice. Dessert was apple pie and ice cream. We are bummed our trip is coming to a close but it’s been wonderful. Tomorrow we plan to show Chris some more sites around the islands, do some souvenir shopping and spend time in the water.

Bonaire will be missed! Such a fun trip!
